Sports is a part of our education, and those who really become educated are the ones who participate, who “go out there” and learn, who interact with others, who push their bodies to become better. The lessons are many: to reach higher than we thought we could, to find out that we need others to obtain our goal, to travel the road back from disappointment.

The program Your Sacred Season calls upon sacred writings and teachings as a template for lessons to accelerate learning and even to lead you to discover the “sacred” in the “season.” Dr. Elko has taught these same lessons in his speeches to winning sports teams during the “season” just prior to their biggest wins, such as the 2012 Super Bowl Champion Green Bay Packers and the University of Alabama Crimson Tide 2012 and 2013 National Champion football teams.

These lessons are divided into three periods — the preseason, the season and the playoffs — but listeners can use these lessons to focus on during different “periods” of their year.
